THE Final Year...

A year of servitude...

slavery...

and worst of all...

SPM~!!

Has just begun. So pray that we'll survive this carnage with all our limbs intact. (including our brain.)

Its an important year this year with our major public examination just round the corner. Being a Form 5 student *finally* is still hard to believe. We've spent most of our school years wishing for school to end and all of a sudden we're here...almost with only a year more to go. Though I'm a fifth year student now, I don't particularly feel any more different than I was the year before. Except for the wish to not fall behind my homework?

Also this year my favourite English teacher isn't going to teach with us for a third. (she has gone over to the afternoon session) so its kinda different...since we kept most of our last year's teacher. I'm also pressured to drop Add Maths since I suck so badly in it, but I don't exactly want to give up either. So we'll see...

Anyway many thanks to my dear friend Jennifer for the souvenir from Beijing. Its really beautiful and its on my fridge right now. =D

And also to Qi-chan who has gotten me a picture of my all-time favourite anime: Code Geass from the Comic Fiesta I never got to attend. XD I really love it~ Thank You

Posibilities Beyond Imagination

The year 2009 has gone by and its time to face a brand new year filled with challenges and excitement (hey you won't know what's gonna happen~) But before that...A litle recap on the year.

A new year began as it ended

Filled with memories of our cherished misadventures

Though I'd say we've done well this year

With mauling and bloodshed kept to a minimum

Although we met new people along the way

It doesn't mean you're any less important

It just meant that our circle have grown

Besides the world seemed so much bigger now

With you and me and everyone in

Its the end for now but there's still a long way to go

So we should put our best foot forward

To face the brightest of our tomorrow.

Looking back at 2009, last year to me is definitely a fabulous year. Even though not everything went well, I feel truly blessed to be able to meet many new people from various places, nationalities and culture who each posses their own unique personalities and charm. *Hey you people from BRATs Ipoh'09 and Jenesys'09* And not to forget friends that I've known through the years. You are really nice and sweet people and I would like to thank all of you for making my life meaningful. I would also like to apologise *I'm sorry* if I've offended anyone throughout the year because I honestly didn't mean it.

So...As for my new year's resolution...I don't have any. Why? Well because I can't keep any so why bother. Its hard to keep by rules...especially those that you've made yourself. So everyone I would like to wish you a very Happee New Year~!! May the year be as wonderful as the rest.

The Journey of a Lifetime

It has been a little more than a week since I've returned from Japan via AFS program. It was really a journey of a life time - the places we went, the people we met, it was truly hard to believe that I was able to participate. Oh and by the way Merry belated Christmas everyone. Via AFS I had experienced many of my "first time" there. And there the saying 'Expect the Unexpected' comes true. Things that you think will only happen in comics and movies will happen to you. I had my fair share of "accidents" and lets say that its really eye opening.

In Japan you cannot believe how much I miss the sun and Malaysian food. Really home is where the heart is - I actually felt really proud being a Malaysian there. As we see many things, we learn to not compare or judge. There is no right or wrong, we're just different lah~ There is so much misconception we have about Japanese people that its really surprising. But there is one thing that's really awesome in Japan... their toilets.

I'm serious. Their toilets are really top class. They come with bum washers ^^ and remote control. There see. The controls for the toilet. XD

Most memorable is my host family. They are really really kind people, hosting us, caring for us and making sure of our well being. Even when we each did not speak the language of the other, they tried hard to communicate with us and learn about us through various means. My stay with them is truely the best in the world. I will not forget you.

These are a few photographs that I find most memorable and of course those depicting my host families is omitted as per AFS rules to protect my host families privacy. The photographs are in no particular order.

The Shizuoka Chapter on our last day in our hosts school. Gawd Shizuoka is damn windy. Who said anything about Shizuoka being warm.

The first time we took the bullet train or as we call it the Shinkansen. During the duration of our trip we all took the Shinkansen several times but did you know that the price of the tickets are equivalent of a plane ticket? And did you know that some Japanese have not rode it before because its insanely expensive?

This is the Kinkaku-ji or Golden Pavilion in Kyoto during one of our study tours. Its some sort of temple and when we went there is was raining!!

Ze Chen and I, on a ferry to Miyajima, Hiroshima. I still owe you your photographs.

My group CM 14 taking a group photo in front of the famous O-torii gate in Miyajima

Me in front of the O-torii gate.

Mae-chan and I eating Okonomiyaki is Hiroshima

There is so many more places that we went but I bore you to death with my endless chatter and photographs. As our chaperon says "All AFS-ers have the gift of the gap". Now I would like say a big Thank You to the Japanese Government, AFS Japan, AFS Malaysia, our beloved volunteers and kind host families and friends for making Jenesys '09 possible.
